Combines Commercial Lines’ and Personal Lines’ Procedures for E & O purposes. Most procedures are exactly the same. The only difference is in Commercial Lines there are audits, certificate, loss runs and the new business and renewal workflows are a little different. Otherwise, all else is pretty much the same; i.e. notes/activities, voicemail, faxes, e-mail, suspense, telephone, etc. Even data processing areas as binders, cancellations, claims, etc. are the same. The only major difference is in the companies because each company has a different way they want things done; i.e. applications, endorsements, rating, etc. so charts are placed in these areas to document the differences.
Involves all Account Managers/Customer Service Representatives and Assistants/Processors, again, to prevent E & O. Remember, your employees are the experts and processes need to be agreed on by all employees to secure consistency and, again, prevent E & O.
Document what is happening right now in your agency to check if there are any major concerns that need to be addressed. If necessary, these major concerns are reviewed, principals are made aware of these issues, solutions are discussed, and then all employees agree on one solution to, again, prevent E & O and increase efficiencies.
